Sherie Holmes Bush is the founding Member of West Highland Placement, LLC. She focuses on partner, lateral associate and group placements and oversees outplacement activities and staffing searches. Prior to becoming a professional recruiter, she practiced law for almost twenty years, including as a Partner at Holland & Knight, and as Counsel for Long Aldridge & Norman (now Dentons). She has served on firm recruiting committees, participated in on-campus recruiting, and mentored many young associates.

Sherie's law firm experience, particularly as a partner accountable for business development and associate productivity, gives her a unique understanding of and perspective on law firm management and recruiting. She has been very successful helping local offices of national and regional firms build their offices through the addition of new practice groups and expansion of existing resources. She has placed full practice groups as well as individual partners and associates, and has experience filling “niche” in-house positions, assisting individuals in developing realistic business plans, and creatively matchmaking talent with need.

Sherie earned her B.A. degree at the age of 20 from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she double-majored in Political Science and Music and was named a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated with a J.D. also from Emory University, having served as the Editor-in-Chief of the inaugural edition of the Annual Survey of Bankruptcy Law, now known as the Bankruptcy Developments Journal. She also was the 1979-1980 recipient of the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for the Most Significant Contribution to Legal Scholarship.

In the Atlanta community, Ms. Bush has served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of The British-American Business Group; as a member of the Board of Trinity Community Ministries, an outreach program assisting homeless and recovering substance abusers; on the Board of the Georgia Academy of Music; and as Chairman of the Board of the Southeastern Savoyards, currently known as Atlanta Lyric Theatre. She is a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Atlanta.

Sherie and her husband, Walter, spend much of their free time in the seaside town of Chatham, Massachusetts and working out of Boston. Sherie has one daughter, Kelly, who is a 2008 graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, a 2012 graduate of Vassar College, and who currently works in the cybersecurity industry in New York City.
